Dr. Sohail Jilani elected president of Saginaw County Medical Society
Dr. M.Sohail Jilani was recently elected president of Saginaw County Medical Society. He is an alumni of Karachi’s prestigious Dow Medical School and has been in practice for more than 24 years. He is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Covenant Medical Center and McLaren Bay Region.
Dr. Zubeda S. Khan, Dr. Maliha N. Shaikh also elected to the society’s board of directors.
Celebrating its 112th anniversary (chartered in 1902), the Society is the professional association of over 530 physicians in Saginaw County.
NYPD investigating anti-Muslim fliers
NY Investigates Hate Crime
New York Police Department is investigating hateful fliers which were left in the lobbies and hallways of a an apartment complex in Shore Haven. They contain expletives and ask Muslims to leave the country. They also include threats to the Muslim community.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Unit has been working working to track down whoever left the hate-filled fliers.There have been no arrests as of press time. City Councilman Mark Treyger, D-47th, denounced the message of intolerance.
“This is a hate crime; a hate act,†he said, “not just against Muslims, but against everyone in our community. An attack against one group is an attack against us all. And we’re not going to stand for it.â€
