Deputy Mohamed Ahmed Thanked for His Dedication


LOS ANGELES,CA–A fundraiser was held on Valentine’s Day for injured Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy Mohamed Ahmed, wounded in the line of duty last month.

He was shot in the face, and an eye was badly damaged. Business owners joined other members of the public for a barbecue in East Los Angeles.

Deputy Ahmed has been a Deputy Sheriff for two years and was recently assigned to East Los Angeles Station as a trainee. On January 11, 2011 Deputy Ahmed and his partner were involved in a fight for their lives. As a result, Deputy Ahmed was wounded. He supports his recently widowed mother and 10 siblings. Deputy Ahmed has a long recovery process ahead but is in good spirits.

Organizers of the fundraiser said they will be there for him over the long haul.
