Dr. Bashir Chowdhry Honored: Appointed to NV State Board of Medical Examiners

Dr. Bashir Chowdhry, a prominent member of the Muslim community of Nevada and the chairman of the Islamic Society of Nevada was appointed to the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners.. The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners consists of nine members appointed by the Governor. Members are appointed to serve a four-year term and may not serve more than two consecutive full terms. Six members of the Board must be persons licensed to practice medicine in this state, are actually engaged in the practice of medicine in this state and have resided and practiced medicine in this state for at least five years preceding their respective appointments. The remaining three members must not be persons licensed to practice medicine in any state and must have resided in this state for at least five years preceding their respective appointments.
Dr. Chowdhry is Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeon of Nevada.
After successfully completing extensive cardiovascular & amp; thoracic surgery and general surgery residencies in Buffalo, New York, Dr. Chowdhry moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, to start what was to become a very successful, private practice in cardiovascular & thoracic surgery. Dr. Chowdhry founded his practice in 1977 and still continues to actively practice cardiovascular & thoracic surgery. Dr. Chowdhry providers cardiovascular & thoracic surgical care 24/7.
As a pillar of the community, Dr. Chowdhry provides care to all patients regardless of their socioeconomic status. Dr. Chowdhry offers the best medical care for the patients of his practice. He is, also, a community leader in the organization and functions of numerous interfaith events. He was the main force behind a community center and state of the art mortuary that was destroyed by a fire in suspicious situation. The investigation is still going on.
As a respected medical pioneer, Dr. Chowdhry currently serves as chairman at well respected area hospitals, is on the Board of Trustees at 2 area hospitals, has served as trustee for the Clark County Medical Society. Dr. Chowdhry is board certified in cardiovascular & thoracic surgery and is, also, F.R.C.S. double Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgery in general surgery and cardiovascular & thoracic surgery.
