Email (explained for kids)

Electronic mail, often abbreviated to e-mail, email, or originally eMail, is a store-and-forward method of writing, sending, receiving and saving messages over electronic communication systems.

The term “e-mail” (as a noun or verb) applies to the Internet e-mail system based on the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol, to network systems based on other protocols and to various mainframe, minicomputer, or internet by a particular systems vendor, or on the same protocols used on public networks.
The use of email, from its modest usage of 20 years ago, has more than thrived–it has become an essential means of communication in our time, relied on by all businesses in the technologically developed world.

It is a system for sending messages from one individual to another via telecommunications links between computers or terminals.

It is a system of world-wide electronic communication in which a computer user can compose a message at one terminal that can be regenerated at the recipient’s terminal when the recipient logs in.
