Excellence: Dr. Sana Khan, Chairman of Radiology Group
Dr. Sana Khan was born in Karachi Pakistan and came to the U.S. in 1974 at the age of 8. He grew up in Orange County, CA and graduated from Bachelors in Biology with Honors at UC Irvine, 1986. Dr. Sana attended UCLA School of Medicine from 1986-1993 and Graduated as Dean’s Scholar with his M.D. and Ph.D. degrees in Anatomy, Neurobiology (Clinical Neurophysiology). He had numerous honors at UCI and UCLA including:
At UCI – Phi Beta Kappa; Winner of the Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award as well as the University President’s Undergraduate Fellowship Award.
At UCLA – Dean’s Scholar; UCLA Alumni Association’s Distinguished Scholar Award; The National Research Service Award; And The Prestigious American Epilepsy Society Medical Student Fellowship granted to 3 students a year nationally.
Dr. Sana has published over 25 articles in such prestigious journals as Journal of Neurology, Journal of Neuroscience, American Journal of Radiology and American Journal of Cardiology. He has been an author and contributor on 3 books.
Dr. Sana started his medical diagnostic business in October of 1996 (as a resident) with one small 14K dollar mobile osteoporosis machine and one employee to now having a medical diagnostic business with over 100 employees and 100 Million dollars in assets.
Currently, he serves as the Chairman and Founder of TrueMRI which is the first Radiology Group in the Country to own the Stand Up, Weight Bearing Positional MRI technology. The group
TrueMRI currently owns and operates 8 imaging centers and is the pioneer in the positional MRI technology with research being conducted at UCLA, North American Spine Society and the AMA.
