Gov. Perry, Black Caucus take up TSU issues (AP)
Gov. Rick Perry will soon meet with the Texas Legislative Black Caucus to talk about the future of Texas Southern University.
In order to get the school’s huge debt under control, the governor wants to replace the school’s board of regents with a single conservator who would be in charge of spending.
The plan has come under fire with some TSU staff members saying the governor should simply replace the board with competent candidates and allow them to solve the school’s problems.
