The Trump Administration Separates families, then loses the children to Human traffickers
by TMO Staff
The Trump administration has been brutal towards people who are undocumented and have been living in the United States. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and been turned into a group that seek out people that are undocumented and take them away from their families.
Countless families have been torn apart, mothers and fathers are separated from their children and children are being sent to countries they have never known.
It is a nightmare for families and individuals who come to this country, not to cause trouble or any harm, but to live a safe life and provide for their families. Just like what the average American does. They do not steal jobs from Americans because they accept jobs that Americans are not willing to do.
The Trump administration has completely disregarded the traditional family values and the respect for human rights that the United States claims to uphold. It is ironic that the Republican Party, who has always claimed to be for family and tradition, is being represented by Donald Trump who is the complete opposite of their party’s platform and they have done almost nothing to stop Trump from destroying our core values.
Over the past couple of years, parents from several Latin American countries have sent their children towards the Southern American borer in hopes that they make it across and live a safe and better life. However, the Trump administration has kept them in holding cells or has immediately sent them to Mexico, even if they were not from Mexico.
More disturbing news is that the United States government has lost track of 1,475 migrant children. Steven Wagner, from the Department of Health and Human Services, disclosed the number to a Senate subcommittee last month and discussed the treatment of unaccompanied immigrant children. There have been reports that some of these children have been sold or taken away by human traffickers, but they are unsure who is responsible for sending these children to human traffickers.
The United States government has said they are not responsible for the 1,475 children that have gone missing. Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen said similar separations happen in the US “every day…Our policy is if you break the law, we will prosecute you… You have an option to go to a port of entry and not illegally cross into our country.”
