Refreshing Mint Matcha Lemonade

With the summer heat right sneaking up on the beautiful and breezy spring, nothing is more refreshing than an iced-cold beverage. Unfortunately, summer heat is usually soothed with frozen novelties, ice cream, milk shakes, or carbonated beverages.

Although these drinks might truly cool you off on the scorching sunny days, they may be causing your body a lot more harm than you can comprehend. Majority of these drinks and treats come along with excessive refined sugar, artificial food colorings or flavorings, and detrimental chemicals. Instead, try this refreshing and extremely healthy mint matcha lemonade, that will energize you and boost your mood as well.

Unlike frozen lemonade you may purchase from a fast food restaurant, this lemonade is made with fresh lemons, and a natural sweetener. Organic maple syrup won’t cause your blood sugar to spike, thus reduces your risk of further cravings. Adding matcha green tea powder won’t only give you energy, but skyrockets the nutritional value of your drink. In fact, matcha green tea is heavily concentrated with antioxidants, especially catechin, as well as remarkably noteworthy anti-cancer properties. Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon organic Matcha green tea powder
  • 6 lemons
  • 4 cups of water
  • 1/3 cup organic pure maple syrup
  • 3 cups ice
  • ½ cup fresh mint leaves

Directions:

  1. Stir the matcha green tea powder into the water until well-dissolved. Place in a glass serving pitcher.
  2. Squeeze the lemons, and add them to the green tea. Stir in the maple syrup until well incorporated. Add ice and fresh lemons.
  3. Pulse in your blender until ice is well-crushed; serve immediately!
  4. Top with a slice of lemon and additional mint leaves for garnish.
