Inclusive India discussed in Rolling Meadows
ROLLING MEADOWS,IL–The issues of Indian Muslims were the focus of discussion at a meeting organized by the American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin at the College of Northwest Suburbs in Rolling Meadows. The well attended program’s keynote speaker was Prof.Akhtarul Wasey, commissioner of linguistic minorities of India.
Prof. Wasey highlighted the need for the community for self-introspection. He said that India’s constitution has strong foundations which are durable. He called for a holistic overview of the socio-economic status of Indian Muslims.
Dr.Khutb Uddin, a prominent community leader and psychiatrist, called for inclusive development in India. He urged the Indian government to reach out to the most deprived and excluded communities. He said that India cannot become a super power as long as its large Muslim population is excluded.
The program was also addressed by Dr.Khalid Sami and Dr. Ghousia Sultana.
